∖ Solo Exhibition ∖ ANTI/FRAGILITY
May 11, 2023 – June 29, 2023 ∖ Dūmų Fabrikas, Vilnius
The exhibition ANTI/FRAGILITY is a unique opportunity to experience the resonance between art and technology. It unfolds as a multilayered narrative about what fragile resilience means.
I / Large-format watercolors are paintings made with thoughts and emotions. Here, what matters is to encounter the story and follow where it leads.
II / In the digital layer, we live in the here and now. AI is an invitation to absorb the details of another kind of world.
III / The musical layer — enchanting sounds and colourful visuals in a powerful space — creates the most beautiful and effective combination.
This unique exhibition invites viewers to let go of control and embark on a journey of emotions. All archetypal moments are recognisable in each of our own experiences. It is no coincidence that the titles of the works begin with the words: That feeling when you like the mist...
…when emotions burst through
…when the current carries you
…when you protect a dream
…when you hear the forest
…when you do not understand what is missing
…when you are a Phoenix

In these gigantic watercolors, fragile resilience emerges in many forms — as unfinished shape, unusual rhythm, empty patches, a restrained palette, and transparency... The watercolor technique is distinctive because it always retains an element of unpredictability. This experience of uncertainty may be associated with stress, instability, or changing values, or, conversely, it may nurture purpose, clarity, and new kinds of experience. It encourages us to ask: when can we allow ourselves to be fragile? And when must we be resilient? And for how long?

Yuge Kurt: “When pouring watercolor, I have to be strong, because there is no definite knowledge of what the final image will be. The brushstrokes themselves must be fragile and transparent.”
